Other Announcements
*Information and Discernment Sheets-We are still accepting I&D sheets, so please fill one out if you haven’t already done so. These sheets are a key part of the discernment process. Speaking of the discernment process, talk to Bret or any member of the executive committee if you have any questions. Sheets can be picked up at Wesley or filled out online by clicking this link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFRQT0llLWo1N2ljTHV4VmRDQlNHR3c6MA#gid=0. Thank you for taking the time to do this!
*Relay For Life- Relay for Life is April 20, 2012! You don’t want to miss this chance to raise money for cancer research and hang out with your best friends. Sign up today at vtrelay.org and join Wesley Foundation team 1,2, or 3!
*Senior Roast- If you want to help roast the seniors, respond to the Doodle Poll Gennie sent out. If you want to be roasted this year, please reply to Gennie’s email. Senior roast is a time of food, laughter, and maybe even some tears as we relive some of the great memories involving those who will be graduating. Roast is best when everyone is involved, so please contact Gennie (gennieb7@vt.edu) if you have any questions or are interested in helping/being roasted.
*Prayer Team- We have an exciting new opportunity in Wesley and we want you to be a part of it! In conjunction with a new prayer wall being installed at the top of the stairs we a forming a prayer team that will meet to pray over the needs of the community, the needs dropped in an anonymous prayer box, and be recognized individuals that the rest of Wesley can come to in focused prayer. This is a great opportunity for those of you that have the spiritual gift of prayer, or even those that would like expand their gift. And even more important than that a great opportunity to be in ministry with your family and friends here at Wesley. So please email Rick (vaughan8@vt.edu) if you are interested in this opportunity and you can be a part of this exciting new chapter in the activities of Wesley !
*Blacksburg Estates Volunteers- BUMC has a lot of kids coming to church from Blacksburg Estates. They would like to pair up some of the kids with Wesley folk who would meet them when their bus arrives at 9:45 to accompany them to their Sunday School classrooms and then meet them after Sunday School to take them to the Whisner Building for food and worship. They also take the kids out for lunch after church and welcome any volunteers to join for a free lunch! (Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me!). If you are interested please reply to Tricia (midpa@vt.edu).
*Living Last Supper Volunteers- Reggie is looking for some manly men to assist him with the Living Last Supper on Maundy Thursday. It is a great way to connect more deeply with the whole Easter experience and members of St. Paul AME. If you participated in the dramatic reading last spring break this would be right up your alley. If you are interested please reply to Tricia (midpa@vt.edu).
*Our Haitian Friend- At Crossroads, Bret mentioned a Haitian girl who is here recovering from a surgery. As she recovers, she is going to physical therapy, and it would be great if a few Wesleyites could help provide rides to these appointments. Also, it would be amazing if Wesley could find a way to entertain and interact with this young girl as she is faced with the difficult task of recovering while she is away from her family and home. If you would like to help or want more information, contact Bret (wesfound@vt.edu).
